Is it the fear of letting go of the person you’ve worked so hard to become? At times, I think we identify with our habits too much.
What’s one unhealthy habit that you’d like to get rid of? It’s settled. You want to get rid of it. But, at the same time, you don’t want to change. If that sounds familiar, welcome to the paradox.
Ultimately, it comes down to making the decision and sticking with it. Why? Because we will always think there’s plenty of time. Whenever we start working on improving our lifestyle, we either see it as too hard or too easy. Both are dangerous. If it’s too hard, then we stop. If it’s too easy, then we think there’s time for one more moment of ‘guilty pleasure’.
What’s the solution? There are plenty. But if that solution doesn’t resonate with you, then it’s all for nothing. You’ve got to know yourself and use your mind as a tool to create the change you want. One example of this is making healthy choices the bad guys. You’ll immediately be drawn to them. As you’re know by junk food or unhealthy habits.
If that’s not your cup of tea, keep looking for your favorite flavor and brand. When you find it, stop looking. Having too many options messes with our minds. It’s easier to come up with excuses and not pick anything when we have too many options. Find one, stick with it, and learn to love it.
