Experience weight loss differently. When you focus on something, you drive energy towards that thing, action, person. And if it’s the right thing to focus on, you’ll feel energized. When you focus on the wrong things, you will feel drained of energy.
It’s the same with weight loss. Most often, people struggling to lose weight say they want to lose weight just because. They know they’ll feel better, have more energy and improve their lives. However, they also like it in the comfort zone. But then someone or something comes along and ruins their comfort. Why do you want to lose weight?
Reasons to Lose Weight
I could keep you hooked to this article for hours just by listing the reasons or benefits of losing weight. Better yet, the reasons for reaching an optimal weight. I won’t do that. You already know the reasons. People around you, the internet and everything that you feel, all these deliver reasons for you to lose weight. But why do YOU want to lose weight? Or maybe I should ask: Do you want to lose weight?
The Shallowness of Wanting to Lose Weight
You could get the best weight loss strategy, program or pill out there. Nothing will help unless you are willing to understand why you want or why you do this. Have you ever stopped to wonder why when we talk about losing weight, we sometimes sweat, fix the ground with our eyes or even say ‘yeah, yeah, I know I need to lose weight and I will’? The answer is: there’s something bigger deep down that wants to come out, a desire, a dream, and a powerful motivator that will make weight loss a side effect once you embrace that inner fire.
Weight Loss as a Side Effect
I am not talking about drug side effects, which are mostly bad. But a side effect is not always bad. In our case, when you actually start investing your energy into your true desires and your true path, weight loss will follow.
Start by raising your standards in everything you do. It’s funny how we raise our standards for what we believe we can’t achieve. What do you think would happen if you raised your standards on ordinary things? Raise your standards on daily activities, on what you believe matters the least. Then you grow, you evolve.
Weight loss will no longer be on your mind. Weight loss becomes a side effect – a byproduct of your commitment to serve yourself and go after what you really want.
