If you’re like me, then you know that whatever junk food you have around the house is meant to be consumed right away. So, how do you buy a lot of food without eating it all in a matter of days? Yes, I am being generous when I say ‘days’.
Well, here are a few scenarios:
- You eat it all, get sick, and forget about junk food for a while.
- You don’t buy junk food.
Ok, there may be more ways of doing this. But if you choose option number 2, great news! You don’t buy junk food… you make your own. Say what? Yes. You make the healthiest junk food there ever was. And you can even get creative with packaging and presentation.
Think outside the box. One of my favorite ways to make my own healthy junk food is by double-baking potatoes. They are crunchy and super tasty. You could even serve them with a dip (guacamole, salsa, hummus). Another is replacing regular ice-cream with frozen fruit. Chocolate? Make something with cocoa powder & honey (morning oatmeal).
