Is fast and permanent weight loss really possible? Mindset Adventure does not promote shortcuts towards achieving a particular goal. The thing is shortcuts should not even exist, unless in case of actual emergencies. Having said that, let’s move on to a more interesting fact and that is the most frequent question I get: What can I do to lose weight fast?
Well, you’ll be excited to find out there are a few shortcuts to weight loss. But I don’t recommend them. The problem with these fast weight loss strategies is that they do not provide permanent results. And I’m guessing you want your results to be permanent as well. I mean, you put in all this effort for a short-term result? No way.
There’s an interesting issue I’ve discovered over the years while working with people looking for a fast and permanent weight loss solution. When faced with a guaranteed weight loss method, they don’t get on board instantly. Some remain on the platform indefinitely. And that’s the actual paradox. Some people are so accustomed to being in a certain way, that they do not want to change even if they are asking for the change.
If I were to pick just one habit for fast and permanent weight loss, it would be changing your mindset. Everything else that comes after that is pure knowledge. When you master your mind, you get to control and use that knowledge. At that point, you can adopt any habit you want.
But I know most of you won’t be satisfied by this simple answer, so here are the other 5 habits for fast and permanent weight loss:
Drink enough water
You only need 14 days to adopt a new habit. As far as water is concerned, you need 30-35 ml per body weight in kilograms.
WATER DRINKING TIP: Drink 300-500 ml of water right after waking up. Then, drink 100-200 ml every hour of the day until you go to sleep. Your goal = achieved at the end of the day.
Eat oatmeal in the morning
So many people swear by oatmeal in the morning. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. And, you guessed it, oatmeal is my comfort food. I eat oatmeal every morning. I combine it with banana and cinnamon. When the banana is not sweet enough, I add a teaspoon of honey. Sometimes, I might have oatmeal with strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.
Oatmeal helps improve digestion and it might lower bloating. If you add nuts or seeds to your morning oatmeal, you won’t get hungry for at least 3 hours.
Get plenty of sleep
Most people enjoy a good restful and prolonged sleep. Others don’t. Regardless of your habits, your body recovers during sleep. Those successful people you hear about have at least one thing in common – they sleep enough and don’t waste nights on meaningless activities. There are people who wake up early in the morning at 4 or 5 am. You might ask: how is that possible? One way to wake up early is to go to sleep early. This is exactly what they do. They go to sleep at around 9-10 pm. Sleep will help balance hormones, including the hunger and satiety ones.
Practice what you love
Find and practice your passion. It definitely never gets old to enjoy the activities you are doing every day. When you do what you love, you don’t have time to waste on continuous eating. You’ll want more energy and you get that by following a balanced diet.
Whenever you need to go somewhere, grab the opportunity and walk there. Get up and walk around the room. Find your favorite exercises. Exercise when you have the chance. There’s a new term in town “fitness snacking”. If you have the time and the means, exercise more often in the course of a day. Let’s say you wake up and have 10 minutes to spare, do some HIIT or push-ups. Then, snack on some pilates in the afternoon and yoga in the evening. You don’t have to do this every day. You still lose weight as long as you are consistent.
